| Safety for CLASSIC Coal Mill Systems | |

by means of constructional explosion protection
e.g. for grinding systems for coal, lignite, petcoke. |

| Conventional deflagration propagation
de-coupling with a single, non-self-re-closing explosion diverter at the
inlet of the filter is often found in systems with a long duct between mill
and filter. Due to the gain in velocity of the flame (and the pressure shock) non-self-re-closing explosion diverters had to be used. These, albeit equipped with low-mass covers, could still be damaged, with their disintegration parts tuning into missiles. The resulting open connection with the atmosphere, allowing ingress of oxygen and / or loss of padding gas, can support a violent secondary explosion and will be hamper fire fighting. |
