Explosion Venting of silos

Constructional explosion protection of silos is based on a silo’s limited pressure shock resistant design and explosion venting, combined.

The patented Thorwesten Vent air-cushioned explosion door with its self-reclosing feature and its capability to remain fully functional protects pressure shock resistant silos against damage as result of pressure shocks.

The self reclosing air-cushioned explosion door inhibits the ingress of air oxygen and, as a result, helps mitigate damage in case the deflagration was followed by a fire.
